Ivanhoe is focused on developing and expanding its four principal mining and exploration projects in Southern Africa. The development of the Kamoa-Kakula copper mining complex in the Democratic Republic of Congo(DRC), the Platreef palladium-rhodium-platinum-nickel-copper-gold discovery in South Africa, the extensive redevelopment and upgrading of the historic Kipushi zinc-copper-germanium-silver mine, also in the Democratic Republic of Congo and exploration on the Western Foreland, near Kamoa-Kakula. Play your part in our team succeeding Ivanhoe Mines SA (Pty) Ltd is looking for someone who will be responsible for the commissioning, maintenance and security of information systems to support the server and cloud infrastructure for the group and drive the architectural design of the systems accountable and responsible for. Ensure that ICT solutions are in line with business requirements for optimal ROI. Furthermore, the incumbent will also be responsible for ensuring legal compliance with all applicable ICT related laws including but not limited to the ECT Act, Rica Act, POPI Act, GDPR (EU version) and UK-GDPR. You must have the following: A 3 Year National Diploma Information Technology discipline beneficial or equivalent; Valid Microsoft Engineer Certificate in server administration or equivalent (MCSE, MCITP, MCSA); Microsoft Azure Foundation Certification; Valid A & N certificate or equivalent; Valid Driver’s License; 10 years relevant experience in management of the Storage and Server (Physical / Virtual) Infrastructure including (but not limited to) Windows Environment; 3 years hands on experience with troubleshooting and providing support required in Virtual or Cloud platform (Azure) including backup and recovery of all systems; Proven experience in overseeing the design, development, and implementation of server infrastructure; Proven experience with systems planning, security principles, and general software management best practices; Writing automation scripts with languages such as PowerShell and Bash/Shell; Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws; Good project management skills; Programming knowledge advantageous. Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language. Highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail. Proven analytical and creative problem-solving abilities. Your Key Performance Activities will include but not limited to: Process: • Cost management (Software License optimization to reduce cost and investigating alternative products). • Project management (Role out of new projects within timelines and budgets). • Provide support and management aspects of server and storage infrastructure operations such as the Microsoft platforms. • Apply governance and security controls around overall design, quality, and technical standards related to the server and storage infrastructure. • Provide Anti-Virus administrations and deployment across servers and desktops. • Deployment, maintenance, and management of the storage infrastructure that connected to Hypervisor and standalone server platforms. • Proactive monitoring of the server (physical & virtual) and storage infrastructure including related components. • Monitor and maintain server logs and health alarms. • Monitor / maintain, investigate and report breaches in performance. (Server uptime and performance optimization). • Monitor and maintain capacity - disk, RAM and processor. • Reporting, Monitoring & Evaluation, Audit: Ensure that all ICT reporting is aligned with standards, guidelines and schedules. • Responsible for commissioning, maintenance and Tier 3 fault analysis of: o Microsoft Hyper-V, VMware. o Server operating systems (MS Server, Linux). o MS Network Access Protection (NAP, NPS, Radius), DHCP, DNS(Tierra), AD, LDAP, ADFS, Certificate Services. o MS Group Policy Objects. o SQL servers (MSSQL, Oracle). o Application servers (IIS). o Microsoft license distribution systems (VLMS). o Load Balancing (Cloudflare, Kemp, F5, NLB). o Backups (Veeam). o Vulnerability Assessment (Netwrix, Nessus). o Email Management (Microsoft Exchange, Mimecast). o Mobile device enrollment (Active Sync, MDM). • Responsible to virtualize and consolidate physical Servers across the Group. • Ensure availability and performance compliance to SLA’s (Service Level Agreements) and OLA’s (Operational Level Agreements). • Ensure best practice configuration is adhered to. • Perform backup and recovery of all systems. • Perform maintenance tasks such as patch levels, firmware upgrades and backups. • Oversee physical security, console access and out of band management access. • Identify, troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software problems. Across the Group. • Work cooperatively with application teams to install or upgrade existing applications. • Liaise with hardware and software suppliers; internet providers; and hosting providers to find the best possible solution to meet the business needs and objectives of the Company. • Plan, design and implement solutions architecture across the group. • Engagement & Communication: Establish and maintain good working relationships and an effective / sound communication system with the ICT Function and operations. • Company Policy & Procedures Compliance: Takes cognizance of and adhere to Company policies, procedures and relevant legislation. Manage and report on non-compliance issues. • Effective Team Player: o Maintain and manage healthy relationships within own team and across teams. o Responsible to provide support to team within area of responsibility. o Responsible to share knowledge and skills with co-workers. o Responsible to use communication and feedback channels effectively. • Effective Self-Management: Responsible for managing own work performance and completing tasks as per set timelines and standards.
