Technician Val de Vie Estate - Voltano Metering Ltd - South Africa

We act as an on-site municipality to manage the electricity and water supplies to residential estates, shopping centres, commercial developments and businesses. With our input, estate managers, body corporate's, tenants and residents are assured that they will receive reliable services, delivered through state-of-the-art equipment using advanced billing and account management systems. Additional services offered include network maintenance and engineering of electricity and water systems. Voltano Metering is seeking a Technician based Paarl in the Western Cape. This position is responsible for the installation and maintenance of electrical equipment, water meters or other equipment. Billing Run and Meter Readings Take readings when billing period commences. Submit readings for houses. Take readings for bulk meters. Suspensions and Re-Instatements Deliver letters to Estates as per Suspension list received Suspend service as per suspension list received. Reinstate services on receipt of a task from customer services. Meter Inspections Conduct meter inspection with both parties present. Termination of Contracts Obtain meter device numbers and final meter reading on receipt of termination of contract request from customer services. Installation of Meters and Metering Equipment. Conduct pre-site inspection (where required for more complex tasks) on receipt of task and obtain the necessary stock for installation. Install meters and metering equipment and ensure correctly connected to the applicable unit. Ensure correct serial number is assigned to correct stand number as per label provided and installation form completed. Installation of Water, gas and Electrical reticulation. Attend to water, gas and electrical reticulation requests. Invoicing and quotations Respond to task requests for a quote. Maintenance on Electricity, water and gas networks Conduct site inspection in accordance with maintenance schedule received. Conduct inspections on generators. Respond to task request for Streetlight Outage. Installation, monitoring and maintenance of AMR Investigate queries received from Client Services. Plumbing Interprets blueprints and building specifications to map layout for pipes, drainage systems and other plumbing materials. Install water meters and basic plumbing fittings. Administration duties Complete administrative duties relating to job cards, time sheets and meter inspection forms. Qualifications: Matric is essential and an ElectricianTrade Test Certification Experience: 2-3 years' experience dealing with electrical installations and water meter installations. Experience dealing with Residential Estates will be an advantage. Knowledge and Skills: Good communication skills Customer Relations AMR knowledge Advanced understanding of electricity, specifically to kWh and KVA Knowledge of plumbing and fittings will be an advantage. Microsoft Office Good Technical understanding in order to programme meters Proficiency in basic mathematics and conversion of measurements. Other: Code B driver's license. Own vehicle.
