Tower/Mast High Site Engineer - Port Elizabeth
As the Tower Engineer, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment and infrastructure to ensure the smooth functioning of all network equipment. Duties: Ensure equipment maintenance by conducting inspections and repairs on telecommunication equipment installed on towers. Set up and configure network equipment and antennas to ensure optimal network performance. Identify and resolve technical issues to minimize downtime and maintain network reliability. Ensure that all work adheres to safety regulations. Collaborate with other engineering and technical teams to optimise network performance, resolve complex issues and implement upgrades or expansions. Tower Engineer Requirements and Qualifications Experience in telecommunications ExperienceExperience with RF installation, configuration and equipment Proficiency in configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting Mikrotik and Ubiquiti equipment. Fall protection and rescue training essential - Certification demonstrating the ability to safely climb and work at heights A foundational understanding of networking principles, protocols, and configurations, which may include knowledge of IP addressing, routing, and network troubleshooting. CPR and first aid certifications a plus Valid driver's license and clean driving record Comfortable working at heights in various weather conditions
