Ferreira Venter Laws and Nel is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing financial records, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. They should possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Financial Record Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using accounting software. Record financial transactions, including purchases, sales, receipts, and payments. Reconcile bank statements and ensure accuracy of financial data. Financial Reporting: Prepare financial statements in accordance with IFRS for SME's and IFRS. Generate management financial reports for management review and decision-making. Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts. Tax Compliance: Ensure compliance with all tax regulations and reporting requirements. Prepare and submit tax returns, including VAT, payroll, and income tax. Stay updated on changes to tax laws and regulations. Audit Support: Assist with internal and external audits as needed. Prepare audit schedules and provide necessary documentation. Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement. Provide insights and recommendations to management based on financial data. Assist in financial forecasting and modeling. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Completed articles with SAICA or SAIPA. Proven experience working as an accountant or in a similar role. Proficiency in accounting software, such as Pastel or Xero. Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. High level of attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of tax laws and regulations. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
