Accountant/Senior Bookkeeper - Cape Town City Centre
Accountant/Senior Bookkeeper - Montague Gardens - R16 000 - R18 000 Per Month
We are looking for an individual who has the relevant work experience and is familiar with working within the Manufacturing Industry. Any applications received not meeting the attached criteria will not be considered.
The candidate MUST reside in Cape Town within close proximity to Montague Gardens and must have own transport.
Responsibilities:
Handle day-to-day financial transactions, including payments to suppliers.
Ensure accuracy and timeliness in processing financial transactions.
Regularly reconcile bank statements to verify financial accuracy.
Identify discrepancies and rectify them promptly.
Collaborate with relevant teams to assist in budgeting and forecasting processes.
Provide financial insights to support decision-making.
Perform cost calculations for machinery and items sold.
Analyse cost structures and recommend cost-saving measures.
Handle payroll processing, ensuring accurate salary payments.
Comply with legal requirements related to payroll and taxation.
Utilize Sage accounting software for financial management and payroll tasks.
Maintain accurate records and generate necessary reports.
Keep detailed records of financial transactions.
Maintain the cashbook and reconcile accounts.
Prepare comprehensive monthly management accounts.
Analyse financial performance and provide insights to management.
Capture daily invoices promptly.
Reconcile supplier accounts on a monthly basis.
Address any additional financial tasks requested by management.
Requirements:
Possess a degree or diploma in accounting or a related field.
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in the manufacturing industry.
Registered with SIPA (or a similar professional body)
Comfortable with preparing SARS returns (tax-related submissions).
