Our Freight Client is currently seeking an IT Support Engineer based in Paarden Eiland, CPT This is an EE Position Salary: R380k - R400k pa this includes 13th cheque, Medical Aid, and Provident Fund They are seeking a skilled and motivated IT Support Engineer to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining their organization's IT infrastructure, ensuring the smooth operation of their systems, and providing support to end-users. Their IT solutions include bespoke in-house development for freight and container management, workflow processing, and packaged software for Financial and Human Resources. Requirements: A suitable qualification in a relevant category 5 or more years of experience in a similar role Confidence in working with complex systems Good knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory, DNS, and Windows Server environments. Experience providing user support and troubleshooting. Familiarity with antivirus products and security best practices. Proficiency in managing printers, PAM solutions, wireless networks, and VLANs. Experience with Microsoft Exchange, SQL, Mimecast, and VMware. Key Responsibilities: Assist in managing and maintaining the Microsoft Active Directory (AD) environment, including user account management, group policy administration, and domain controller configuration. Assist in maintaining DNS infrastructure and ensuring proper resolution of domain names. Provide user support and troubleshooting for desktops, laptops, and other end-user devices. Manage and administer Windows Server environments, including installation, configuration, and maintenance of server operating systems. Support and administer Microsoft Office suite applications. Manage antivirus (AV) products and ensure systems are protected against malware and other security threats. Configure and maintain printers and printer servers. Assist in implementing and managing Privileged Access Management (PAM) solutions. Assist in configuring and maintaining wireless networks, VLANs, and switches. Provide support for Microsoft Exchange server and email systems. Assist in managing and administering SQL databases, including installation, configuration, and maintenance. Maintaining Disaster Recovery Planning (DRP) methodologies to ensure business continuity. Administer Mimecast email security and archiving solutions. Support and administer VMware virtualization infrastructure. Work Setup : They are using Windows PCs and Servers; the Servers are hosted in an on-premise VMWare environment. An on-premise Microsoft SQL Server supports their developed and packaged solutions. Their offices in Cape Town, Durban, and Johannesburg are connected with an SDWan. They are currently migrating from desktop Office 2016 software to Microsoft 365 and from an on-premise Exchange server to Exchange Online. The aim is to move all on-premise applications and infrastructure into the cloud within the next 24 months.
