Controls procedures to process the flow of of cargo from the time that the order is placed on an overseas supplier until the goods are collected and shipped, includes the RCG process with the RCG Control Tower To ensure ongoing receipt of indents and capturing of all indents on Cargo Wise and monitoring of indents via e-mail / Cargo-Wise To track indents until arrival at South African port and keep clients fully updated regarding the status of their cargo via e-mail or status reports closely monitoring all delays. To give good advise as regards to the most suitable and economic modes of transport within the time constaints set by the importer Knowledge and expeience to manage complex client's forwarding requirements. Constantly consider ways to add value to clients Maintain good lines of communication with all offices as well as the Network Agents To closely monitor-trans-shipments and keep client updated as regards the non-carriage details Keep clients informed and handle queries from clients and other stakeholders and departments Checking of overseas agents freight invoices against rates agreed with Rate Cards in place with BIL Clients. Keep system updated with all communication and documentation received and affected Handle Cross Trade shipments from all over the world with our agents Qualifications Matric/ Grade 12 Certificate Tertiary education would be an advantage Any shipping accredited unit standard adavntegeous Competencies Knowledge: Ability to handle forwarding clients with complex requirements Thorough technical knowledge Have a good understanding of import documentation and process flows Sound working knowledge of incoterms Highly developed geographic knowledge Undertsanding the A/F Buy /Sell rate concept Understanding the Profit Share/Split Agreements on freight differentials Skills: Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills preferably coupled with an outgoing personality Highly developed computer and typing skills (MS Office and Cargo-Wise) Ability to work to deadlines, under pressure and after hours as the need arises Be methodical ands well organised with an analytical and enquiring mind Client centric focus and the ability to problem solve R 30 000 - R 35 000 African candidates only
