POSITION: AOC Accountable Manager REPORTING TO: Starlite Aviation Group CEO LOCATIO N: Durban Starlite Aviation Operations (Pty) Ltd has a requirement for a resilient, strong and organised professional to fill this position in Durban within the Starlite Group. Overall Role in Business: Responsible for Starlite Aviation Operations (Pty) Ltds operational activities and performance for all International and Domestic Air Service License operations (Part 127 Helicopter, Part 135 Fixed Wing and Part 101 Remote Pilot Aircraft Systems), in accordance with regulatory and safety requirements, financial budgets and the companys procedures. KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS: Support the development of strategy, objectives and goals for the business Create the organization, resources, systems, processes and controls to achieve objectives Develop, motivate and control the teams towards achieving the business objectives Lead the drive to entrench the QSMS and build a positive quality and safety culture. KEY RESPONSABILITIES: Ensure that all activities can be financed and carried out in accordance with the applicable requirements. Build a strong team to deliver results and the systems to retain Aviation Accreditations through enforcing a quality and safety culture. Develop and implement systems and controls to enable the effective functioning of all sections under your control within the AOC. Ensure compliance with SACAA compliance. Liaise with customers, contractors and SACAA and other agencies. Input into Tender pricing and budgets required. Plan, operate and execute Operations within Tender budgets. Build and maintain strong supplier relationships and participate in the negotiations with suppliers to achieve operational requirements on bases. Provide insight into fleet additions, sales and overall planning. Build and maintain robust and effective relationships with the Commercial and Maintenance Departments. Regular travel to Operational Bases required (Local and International). CRITICAL REQUIREMENTS: Deep knowledge of both the technical and operational management of both Helicopter, Fixed Wing and RPAS operations Knowledge of applicable regulations and requirements, relevant to the operations requirements Strong discipline to upholding performance standards, organisational objectives and goals Good Customer Service Skills Good Interpersonal Skills Strong Administration skills Good Communications skills MS Office Suite Languages: High level of English proficiency (read, speak and write) French (highly advantageous) Other (advantageous) QUALIFICATIONS AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS: The following list of qualifications is essential to fill the position: Pilot License (minimum CPL) Business Management Diploma/Degree Safety and Quality Assurance Certification - Eight years in a senior management role, managing teams and with responsibility for budgets, performance management and operational compliance with a proven track record of achievements in previous roles - Eight years of senior management level experience within civil aviation, in flight operations, maintenance, safety management or quality management role with a proven track record of achievements in previous roles The above position will be filled in accordance with the Recruitment and Selection Policy to achieve the Groups Objectives and Goals.
