Phakisa Holdings is currently seeking a Area Manager for Bloemfontein & Northern Cape BRIEF SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES: The purpose of the Area Manager is to Supervise, Control and Oversee all daily functions required by the main SLA between Phakisa and Client as to ensure a positive service experience from the client and the workforce that Phakisa is managing on behalf of the client. Key result areas will include: The Area Manager will be expected to represent Phakisa Management in client meetings up to and including client Executive level. The operations staff (CLOs, Administrators, Compliance Officers, and Supervisors) will report directly to the Area Manager . He / She will be responsible to assist them with day-to-day planning, problem solving and motivation. All efforts to be directed at complying to the required standard set by the client and their ancillary operations. The Area Manager will be expected to work independently – only reporting to RM on salient matters. The Area Manager will be expected to ensure that Phakisa is seen as a Strategic Business Partner as opposed to a supplier. The Area Manager will be (for the most part) the most senior and responsible person in this region. He will be representing Phakisa Holdings from shop floor level up to Site Management Forums. He will be required to as far possible act in a responsible and accountable manner. He will be required to set the example to his fellow operations colleagues. The Area Manager has the duty to observe all daily activities, identify and resolved key issues and ensure that relevant reports are made to Phakisa Management. General everyday duties will include: Ensuring compliance with legislation, company policies and client SLA are met. Management and control of PPE. Manage operations personnel to ensure that all SOP's, job specifications, instructions and duties as set out are performed according to specification and timeously. Ensure that timesheets and required documentation are completed and captured for all new employees (casual and long term) Accurate database and filing system in place. Documents easily retrievable on request. Ensure that all invoices for the client are delivered (and signed for) and that any queries on these invoices are timeously resolved to ensure payment to Phakisa. Ensure that recruitment for operations – specifically in times of extraordinary production schedules is undertaken and that a database of casuals used is in place. Responsible for reporting and reports as submitted timeously to client. o Management of bus service supplier: Weekends / PPH o Perform basic Employee Assistance / HR for employees on site and ensure Wellbeing and welfare of staff maintained. Ensure that all employees on site have correct, valid documentation completed and on file. Ensure that any changes to running of the operation that needs to be made comply with legislative changes (and advised by Phakisa management) are implemented on site. Oversee compliance to site SHEQ requirements and ensure Site SHEQ requirements are at 95% compliance at all time (Medicals / GMP & SHE Inductions). Oversee Disciplinary Processes compliant to LRA and BCEA by maintaining clear records – Monthly IR Logs and Represent company at the CCMA. Direct involvement in developing annual strategic business plans and agreed. Implement and manage new policies or procedures and action plans as discussed and Report back to Phakisa senior management. Ensure sound employer / employee relations on site. Daily Operations duties to ensure client TES requirements are always met. Liaise with client site management and ensure effective, open communication is maintained. Queries / concerns raised are recorded and addressed immediately. Key qualifications / requirements High level of computer literacy – specifically on MS Excel and Outlook Matric Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills Excellent organizational and leadership abilities Excellent Problem solving abilities Project Management Qualification would be advantageous Strong business acumen with strategic orientation Previous Operational and administrative management experience (minimum 5 years) 3-5 years Key Accounts Management experience Minimum 5 years experience in the TES operation environment required Drivers license.
