This is a skilled position responsible for the management and performance of a large project by management of commercial, contractual, regulatory, and reporting obligations during the phases of construction and operations for the projects ensuring financial viability and identifying any potentially challenging provisions that may impede implementation, thus ensuring the project we take ownership of are financially sound. The Asset Manager will provide support to the Head of Operations in their interactions with the Board of Directors and third parties related to each Project Company, ensuring compliance with the terms of the Management Service Agreement. Furthermore they will monitoring and control of contractual obligations, maintaining contractual records and developing and implementing contractual procedures and policies under the various projects' agreements, ensuring health, safety, environmental and quality compliance is maintained, and the project's procedures and objectives are achieved. Advantageous Understanding of renewable energy environment, development, implementation and the key commercial and business drivers. Knowledge of engineering science and technology Assume ultimate responsibility and accountability for SPV asset management, overseeing activities from financial close to the project's end of life. Drive both financial and operational performance to ensure optimal project outcomes. Assess operational performance and identify areas for enhanced performance, through minimizing downtime, conducting root cause analyses Take charge of driving profits through strategic initiatives such as refinancing, plant performance improvements, and other optimizations. Facilitate the identification, development, and implementation of improvements in business processes Monitor project-level profit & loss (P&L) activities, conducting analyses of budget variance, CF Forecast, and solar plants budget reviews to guarantee expected financial returns. Manage project insurance activities. Administer all project financing agreements, including monitoring payments, handling loan disbursement, and equity contributions. Act as the key point of contact with Senior Lenders, executing bank transactions and ensuring compliance with all covenants and required provisions. Monitor project-level profit & loss (P&L), cash flows, and annual budget deviation. Verify inputs and provide support for monthly revenue invoicing. Produce monthly/quarterly/annual management and plant performance reports. Prepare quarterly board packs and host board meetings. Determine and review annual budgets in collaboration with the finance team. Review and authorize monthly payment schedules. General Asset Management Tasks (non- exhaustive) Ensure each asset fulfills obligations and exercises rights under project agreements, embedding a culture of enterprise-wide asset management. Manage key stakeholder relations, including Department of Mineral Resources and Energy, Eskom, NERSA, private off-takers, lenders, shareholders, and local government. Manage and compile monthly stakeholder report distributions in accordance with project agreements (PPA, IA, etc.). Maintain documents in line with the team's filing and project management system. Manage and support the social investment program, meeting each asset's Enterprise Development and Socio-Economic Development obligations, and providing oversight as a member of the Social and Ethics Committee. Provide highly organized and structured financial and operating reports to the Board of the SPV or project company. Support the development, implementation, and monitoring of risk management frameworks within each asset. Change management: Review and approve change orders, submit applications, etc. Ensure compliance with insurance policies, overseeing timely renewal and certification. Visit project sites and local communities as necessary. Manage relationships with landowners, acting as a key point of contact. Support the Head of Operations in managing relationships with the Boards of Directors of the SPVs, advisors, EPC, and O&M Contractors. Represent the company, as required, in other meetings, sub-committees, and formal structures. Financial, Engineering or Legal degree with advanced operational and project finance knowledge Minimum 2-3 years strong and proven commercial experience in a South African infrastructure asset management environment. The ability to use own initiative to do what is required, e.g. initiate the implementation of new processes or find resolve for problems without having received an instruction to do so. Proficiency in understanding financial modelling and analysis Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Strong Project Management skills Reporting experience to various Boards of Infrastructure Asset Companies is an essential requirement. Knowledge and understanding of the OHS Act. Knowledge and application of relevant compliance requirements with complex contractual entities. Evidence of managing stakeholder relationships at this level required with senior relationships in the REIPPPP industry (e.g. DOE, NERSA, Eskom, commercial banks) preferred. Experience in managing businesses with social investment programmes whereby Enterprise Development and Socio-Economic Development obligations have had to be met. Detail oriented, with an ability to establish and follow processes. Understanding of PV system design, operation, and key commercial and business drivers. Knowledgeable in the systems, processes and protocols guiding the operations and maintenance of utility PV solar plants and electrical systems. Willingness to travel. Demonstrated ability to be self-motivated and perform job tasks independently Team player and able to work under pressure; Strong communication skills Strong interpersonal skills, professionalism, and ability to work closely with members of different business groups and functions of a global company at all levels Proven process management skills; Organized and methodical, able to handle complex contracts, calculations and reports; Driven, always looking for ways to improve and having high aspirations for own work; Dedicated, flexible and adaptable with a “can-do” attitude; High social and intercultural competence, able to coordinate and communicate with external parties; Market Related Apply Now
