Our client, who designs, manufactures, tests and repairs flameproof and non-flameproof transformers and switchgear to mining and industrial sectors globally, is looking for a Assistant Financial Manager (completed articles) to assist the finance department, manage financial reporting and manage the performance of the finance department. Primary Responsibilities Develop and maintain timely and accurate financial statements Ensure that all statutory requirements of the organization are met including relevant SARS requirements (PAYE, VAT and Annual tax) Prepare all supporting information for the annual financial audit and liaise with the External Auditors. Prepare all supporting information for the annual BEE Verification and liaise with the Auditors. Maintain complete and accurate information for all financial transactions Develop and maintain financial accounting systems for cash management, accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit control, and petty cash. Reconcile bank and investment accounts Review monthly results and implement monthly variance reporting Reporting to holding company Manage the cash flow and prepare cash flow forecasts. Oversee the bookkeeping function including maintenance of the general ledger accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll. Assist the Managing Director and the Finance Director with financial reporting at Board meeting and the Annual General Meetings Budget preparation Project management accounting Risk management Oversee and supervise the administrative function of the organization including reception, property/facility management, safety of the work environment, and provision of furnishings and equipment necessary for effective operations Oversee the management of all leases, contracts and other financial commitments Monitor all legislation relevant to the organization (employment standards, occupation health and safety, human rights, etc.) and all regulations on professional certification to ensure that the organization is compliant Ad hoc projects Experience 2-3 years' experience in similar role. Knowledge of Companies act and related requirements Proficiency in SAGE , VIP Advanced Excel skills. Word processing Financial Reporting Management Accounting Management Qualification Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, or related field Chartered Accountant certification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
