Assistant Warehouse Manager - Cape Town City Centre

Our client is seeking an Assistant Warehouse Manager for the wholesale FMCG division!

Responsibilities:

  • Inventory Management:

    • Monitoring and managing stock levels.
    • Conducting regular stock checks and reconciling discrepancies.
    • Ensuring accurate and up-to-date inventory records.
  • Order Fulfillment:

    • Supervising the picking, packing, and dispatching of goods.
    • Ensuring orders are processed efficiently and accurately.
    • Coordinating with the sales and customer service teams to meet delivery deadlines.
  • Staff Supervision:

    • Managing and training warehouse staff.
    • Scheduling shifts and assigning tasks.
    • Ensuring adherence to safety protocols and procedures.
  • Warehouse Operations:

    • Overseeing the receipt, storage, and distribution of goods.
    • Implementing and maintaining efficient warehouse processes and procedures.
    • Ensuring the proper maintenance and operation of warehouse equipment.
  • Quality Control:

    • Inspecting goods for quality and damage.
    • Implementing quality control measures and procedures.
    • Ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Safety and Compliance:

    • Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
    • Conducting regular safety audits and risk assessments.
    • Implementing safety training programs for staff.
  • Reporting and Documentation:

    • Maintaining accurate records of warehouse activities.
    • Preparing and submitting regular reports on inventory, staff performance, and warehouse operations.
    • Analyzing data to identify areas for improvement.
  • Coordination and Communication:

    • Liaising with suppliers, transport companies, and other departments.
    • Coordinating inbound and outbound logistics.
    • Handling customer queries and resolving issues related to warehouse operations.
  • Process Improvement:

    • Identifying opportunities to streamline warehouse operations.
    • Implementing new technologies and systems to improve efficiency.
    • Continuously reviewing and improving warehouse processes and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Warehouse or branch management experience
  • Good organisational skills
  • Good leadership skills
  • Strong admin capability
  • Experienced stock manager
  • Own reliable transportation
  • A qualification in warehousing, logistics of similar would be advantageous
