Associate Professor - Accounting - East London
Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide academic leadership in research; curriculum design, development, and implementation
- Teach undergraduate and postgraduate modules
- Meet research publication requirements for the academic rank of Associate Professor
- Secure external research grants and establish research programmes
- Supervise all levels of postgraduate students and host post-doctoral fellows
- Establish institutional and national / international collaborations
- Provide academic leadership and contribute to mentorship of academic staff
- Participate in community engagement integrated with teaching and/or research
- Contribute to University service and participate in administrative duties at Departmental, Faculty and University levels.
Desired Experience & Qualification
- A relevant Doctoral degree
- Registration with a relevant professional accounting body
- At least 7 years' experience in higher education
- Extensive undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and research experience in Accounting
- A track record of international and national accredited research publications commensurate with the academic rank of Associate Professor
- Postgraduate supervision experience including successful Masters and/or Doctoral supervision commensurate with the academic rank of Associate Professor

- Qualification/courses in higher education teaching and learning
- Evidence of successful external fundraising for research.
- Some standing as a scholar in a chosen area of research (e.g., NRF rating, keynote addresses/ plenary lectures).
- Evidence of successfully hosting post-doctoral research fellows.
- Evidence of professional and academic standing at national and/or international levels
- Evidence of academic leadership and mentorship of early career academics
- Evidence of national and/or international collaboration
