Auto-Electrician - Pretoria
My client is looking for an Auto Electrician to join them at their premises in Willow Park Manor (N4 Gateway)
Responsibilities:
Installation and Repair: Install, repair, and maintain electrical wiring, components, and systems in various vehicles, including cars, trucks, and buses.
Diagnosis and Troubleshooting: Identify electrical problems through diagnostic tools and manual testing methods. Diagnose issues such as faulty wiring, broken components, or malfunctioning electrical systems.
Component Replacement: Replace and repair electrical components such as alternators, starters, batteries, and wiring harnesses.
System Upgrades: Install and upgrade electrical systems including lighting, audio, security, and navigation systems according to manufacturer specifications and customer requirements.
Safety Compliance: Ensure all electrical work meets safety standards and regulations. Use proper safety precautions and equipment when working with electrical components.
Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of repairs, installations, and parts used. Provide detailed reports to supervisors or customers on completed work and recommendations for further maintenance.
Customer Service: Communicate effectively with customers to understand their concerns, explain repairs or upgrades, and provide estimates for work.
Skills and Qualifications:
Technical Skills: Proficient in diagnosing and repairing electrical systems in vehicles.
Familiarity with diagnostic tools such as multimeters and oscilloscopes.
Knowledge: Understanding of automotive electrical systems, including wiring diagrams, schematics, and components.
Attention to Detail: Ability to meticulously inspect and test electrical systems to identify problems accurately.
Safety Awareness: Adherence to safety protocols and regulations when handling electrical equipment and working with vehicle systems.
Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with customers and team members effectively.
Certification: Qualified (Trade Test) in automotive electrical systems.
