This role involves maintaining press and fleet vehicles, ensuring they are in peak condition. Education: Education: Minimum Grade 12 with proficiency in English (both written and spoken). Technical Qualification: Certified Master Mechanic (Red Seal) or equivalent trade certification. Driver's License: Valid Code B (08) driver's license with a clean record. Technical Skills: Proficient in using Microsoft Word, Excel, Internet, and Outlook. Experience: At least 5 years of relevant experience working with BMW vehicles. Knowledge: In-depth understanding of BMW automotive systems, including the layout, functionality, and location of parts, as well as mechanical issues, warranties, and general repairs. Skills: Strong organizational, customer service, communication, interpersonal, and training skills. Ability: Capable of working under pressure and meeting tight deadlines. Job Experience & Skills Required: Travel: Travel nationwide for vehicle launches and press events. Coordination: Communicate with carriers regarding press vehicle logistics and maintain records of vehicle movements. Monitoring: Oversee vehicle registrations, tracker installations, and security film applications on all department vehicles. Servicing: Perform pre-delivery services and inspections of new press/fleet vehicles. Testing: Conduct initial test drives (up to 2000 km) to identify defects and evaluate driving dynamics, including wheel balance, alignment, and any noises. Reporting: Compile technical feedback on faults and overall vehicle conditions. Documentation: Complete repair job cards, record part replacements, and ensure proper system entry. Parts Management: Order necessary parts and handle warranty claims for returned parts. Maintenance: Carry out repairs, servicing, and maintenance on fleet/press vehicles as needed. Diagnostics: Use appropriate diagnostic equipment (such as ISIS and other BMW tools) for vehicle analysis. Collaboration: Work with various departments on technical issues and manage vehicle fleet processes.
