A Baker assists the Demi Chef de Partie Baker and Chef de Partie Baker in preparing delicious baked goods. You'll play a key role in product preparation, maintenance, logistics, and ensuring safety and sanitation standards are met.
- Preparing a wide variety of goods such as cakes, cookies, pies, bread etc. following MSC approved recipes.
- Produce as required by the Executive chef a range of alternative bakery products for guests with specific dietary requirements (fat-free, salt-free, sugar-free etc.).
- Ensure high standards of all bread and bread products (pizza etc.) and presentation, including portion and quality control.
- Check temperatures and condition of all material in the section.
- Follows all food safety protocols in the bakery department in compliance with MSC Food safety standards.
- Ensures that food is properly stored, sets up the workstations and keeps it clean at all times.
- Prepare the daily mise en place and food production.
- Minimize food spoilage.
- Comply with international HACCP.
- Proficient English, oral and written skills.
- Proven successful experience for at least 2 contracts in a similar position in a major hotel operating under International Food Safety Standards, Bakery or a cruise ship.
