Description Excellent opportunity at a well-established and reputable Consultancy in Cape Town for a Bookkeeper to join their ranks. This is a great opportunity for someone with solid bookkeeping experience to solidify their bookkeeping and accounting experience and build a career in the industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for client liaising, sorting and filing of financial records, monthly accounting processing up to trail balance, monthly bank reconciliations, VAT reconciliations, VAT201 submissions, preparation of year-end schedules to support the preparation of annual financial statements as well as other administrative duties. The candidate will have a minimum of 3 years bookkeeping and accounting experience, preferably in an accounting firm environment. Partial or completed articles would definitely be a positive, but not required as the client values the correct experience highly. A candidate with the intention of a long-term commitment would be viewed favourably. Duties and Responsibilities: Perform monthly bookkeeping up to trial balance, management accounts and payroll for clients. Preparing accounting work relating to annual financial statements. Responsible for calculating VAT, PAYE and other necessary SARS requirements on a monthly basis. Maintain excellent client relationships. Qualifications and Experience: Grade 12. Diploma/Certificate in Accounting will be an advantage. Experience is more important than qualification. Computer Literacy (MS Word, MS Excel, Pastel, Sage and Xero). Must have a minimum of 3 years’ experience as a bookkeeper. Must have experience in VAT, PAYE and Income tax. Liaising with SARS. Competencies required: Must have a strong attention to detail and accuracy. Must have strong methodical and analytical skills. Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Must be able to work well under pressure. Must have excellent planning and organising skills. Remuneration: R15,000 to R20,000 pm, depending on experience. Apply Now
