As a Broker Consultant in South Africa, your primary responsibility will be to build and maintain relationships with brokers to promote and sell financial products and services on behalf of the company you represent. To excel in this role, you should have strong communication and interpersonal skills, a solid understanding of financial products and services, and the ability to build and maintain relationships with brokers effectively. Additionally, a background in sales or business development within the financial services sector would be advantageous. A proactive and results-driven approach, coupled with a passion for driving business growth, will be key to succeeding as a Broker Consultant in South Africa. Developing and implementing strategic plans to increase broker engagement and drive sales growth. Providing product training and support to brokers to ensure they have a thorough understanding of the company's offerings. Conducting market research to identify new business opportunities and trends in the financial services industry. Collaborating with internal teams, such as sales, marketing, and product development, to align strategies and achieve business objectives. Attending industry events, conferences, and networking functions to promote the company's brand and establish partnerships with key stakeholders. Monitoring and analysing broker performance metrics to track progress and identify areas for improvement. Resolving any issues or concerns raised by brokers in a timely and professional manner. Keeping abreast of regulatory changes and compliance requirements to ensure all activities are conducted in accordance with industry standards. Education: A bachelor's degree in business, finance, marketing, or a related field Industry certifications: RE 5 Experience: Prior experience in sales, business development, or relationship management within the financial services industry is highly beneficial. Experience working with brokers or in a brokerage firm can provide valuable insights into the broker channel and client needs. Knowledge of financial products: A strong understanding of financial products, such as insurance, investments, and retirement planning, is essential for effectively promoting and selling products to brokers and clients. Regulatory knowledge: Familiarity with industry regulations, compliance requirements, and ethical standards is crucial to ensure that all activities are conducted in accordance with legal guidelines. Communication skills: Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills are essential for building and maintaining relationships with brokers, clients, and internal stakeholders. Analytical skills: The ability to analyse market trends, identify business opportunities, and track performance metrics is important for developing strategic plans and achieving sales targets. Computer proficiency: Proficiency in using CRM systems, sales tools, and other technology platforms is often required to manage broker relationships and track sales activities effectively.
