Salesforce Build & Release Engineer Key Responsibilities: The candidate will work within our DevOps team and with our Front End Scrum teams automating and optimizing our Salesforce software build and deployment process. Job Role Requirements Take complete accountability for all aspects of a release plan and production readiness checklist Automate and optimize our software build and deployment system, ensuring we measure and minimize the time from commit to customer Work with Technical Architects on the packaging structure to decide if features should be shared or kept separate Make sure build and deployment processes are following known best practices Coach and train developers and testers on best practices that help them become more efficient and work with them to push the envelope on known best practices for automation, always improving them Liaise with Developers in other teams on a regular basis on common issues Manage source code for branch and merge strategy Manage Salesforce build and deploy infrastructure Plan and build Infrastructure-as-Code deployments for Composable Salesforce Organisations First principle debugging – Use fundamental principles to find and fix issues Repeatability of the release management process for the development team Scale pipeline to support more customers, systems and developers Raise build and deploy infrastructure issues and potential improvements with Operations and DevOps Teams Exercise technical consistency within the IT environment. Demonstrate culture of individual leadership and development and exhibit progressive attitude to technology and career Minimum Requirements: Education Matric A BSc Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, a BComm Business Information Systems (BIS) Degree Experience 3 years of work experience in a development environment Experience in a fast-paced, agile environment Experience with Application Lifecycle Management tools (ALM) Up to date Salesforce Knowledge Familiar with Salesforce Frameworks The FLXBL framework for Composable Salesforce Orgs Salesforce DX for packaging and deployment Experience with various development & scripting languages: Apex Scripting JavaScript Bash Hands on experience with various operating systems and environments: Linux Windows Experience with collaboration & development tools: SCM - Git distributed source control Build – GitLab, GitHub, Jenkins Deploy – Salesforce DX, GitLab Pipelines Aligned to values and self development Align personal values to the company's culture and values.
