Buying Manager (Footwear Industry) - Expat - Johannesburg

Our client is looking for a talented and experienced Buying Manager with a strong background in the footwear industry, specifically in the female category. The ideal candidate, preferably of Arabic nationality, will possess a deep understanding of current trends, key brands, and consumer preferences. They will be responsible for developing and implementing buying strategies aligned with the company's overall business objectives. The candidate should have a forward-thinking approach to anticipate market changes and adapt buying strategies accordingly.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement buying strategies aligned with the company's overall business objectives.
  • Conduct market research to stay informed about current trends, key brands, and consumer preferences in the female footwear category.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and key stakeholders.
  • Monitor and analyze sales data to identify opportunities for improvement and ensure optimal stock levels.
  • Negotiate terms, prices, and delivery schedules with suppliers to secure the best deals.
  • Coordinate with the merchandising and marketing teams to ensure cohesive product offerings and promotional strategies.
  • Prepare regular reports on buying performance, market trends, and competitive activity.
  • Manage the buying budget and ensure all purchasing activities are cost-effective and within budget.
  • Lead and mentor a team of buyers, providing guidance and support to achieve departmental goals.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Business, Fashion Merchandising, or a related field.
