Chief Operating Officer (COO) - Germiston
The COO will collaborate with the shareholders and executive management team to set and drive organisational vision and operational strategy for the next level of growth for the business. The business is an established end to end manufacturer of custom engineered products, prolific in Africa, UAE, Europe and Australia.
The COO will assume responsibility and authority for the effective leadership and profitable management of the company so as to achieve a financial performance which is in line with agreed objectives with particular emphasis on:
- Driving operational and commercial performance,
- Growing market share and growing the client base,
- Managing budgets, financial reporting and forecasts to ensure business objectives are achieved,
- Ensuring the provision of the highest levels of quality and customer service; and
- Building and maintaining key client relationships;
- Developing and retaining staff;
- Focusing on optimising the business from a systems perspective
Qualifications, Experience and Competencies required:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering / Commerce.
- CA(SA) or MBA qualification will be an advantage
- 10 years experience in executive leadership in a manufacturing/ engineering environment
- Commercial acumen, specifically in the financial, sales, and supply chain management areas
- Strong, influential communicator
This role will suit an energetic professional who comes from an engineering background or commercial background with experience in an engineering or industrial environment. A commercial and operational leader who has managed a division in a large company, or a MD who has managed a medium sized company.
Someone who is commercially astute with the drive to help the shareholders grow an already successful business into its next era of performance through sales growth, system and operations optimisation, and customer service excellence.
