Job Req ID 3759 Closing Date 23 February 2024 OME EOP: Regional Ops and Asset Servieces Geographical Area Sasolburg Purpose of Job A Civil Engineer I will be utilizing level of experience in civil engineering to: execute the design, engineering, development and modification of simple and/or non-complex civil systems in accordance with established engineering principles and standards to satisfy business requirements. This will assist colleagues and team members in providing technical assistance to several smaller projects. Having basic engineering knowledge and competence in particular relating to design and construction of steel and concrete structures will ensure defined knowledge in fields of civil engineering (e.g. Quality control, problem solving, deep excavations, piling, large foundations, geotechnical investigations). Execute the civil engineering scope and work information for multidisciplinary projects. Show knowledge of Sasol specifications, standards and be familiar with applicable SANS specifications and standards Have an appreciation for general and specific engineering legislation. Be aware of best practices and ensure/maintain adherence. Utilise civil engineering systems, tools and standards in projects. Create, develop and update of civil engineering systems, tools and standards. Assist with input concerning best practices, lessons learnt and training. Give input to identified specifications and procedures. Recruitment Description Continued Assist with input to project execution strategies including contracting and selection of suppliers. Provide input, oversight, assessment and contribute to the development and execution of the project execution plans with respect to Civil engineering. Support and guide less experienced engineers. Provide efficient and quality services to the service requestor to match agreed requirements. Deliver on functional contributions as agreed with client. Asist in the management of the Civil Asset Management Programme. Implement discipline specific quality assurance. Provide subject matter expertise inputs to various plants. Have deviation control in place. Identify deviations to guidelines and standards and provide timeline to correct. Assist with project success by adherence to cost, schedule and quality targets for project scope. Respond on time to changes / technical queries.
