Civil Quantity Surveyor with As-Built, Leveling, and Pegs Experience Initial project will be in Western Cape and the back to JHB for other projects. Permanent Position
Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled Civil Quantity Surveyor with specialized experience in managing As-Built documentation, leveling operations, and pegging for civil engineering projects. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in accurately quantifying materials, estimating costs, and maintaining project timelines while ensuring high standards of quality and compliance with relevant regulations.
Responsibilities:
Quantity Surveying:
- Conduct quantity take-offs from engineering drawings and specifications.
- Prepare accurate bills of quantities (BOQ) and cost estimates for civil works.
- Monitor and report on project expenditures to ensure budgetary compliance.
As-Built Documentation:
- Oversee the compilation and verification of As-Built drawings and records.
- Ensure all changes and deviations from initial designs are documented and reflected in As-Built reports.
- Coordinate with project stakeholders to validate As-Built data for accuracy and completeness.
Leveling and Pegs:
- Supervise leveling surveys to establish precise site levels for construction purposes.
- Manage the placement and verification of pegs to mark construction boundaries and reference points.
- Collaborate with survey teams to resolve discrepancies and maintain alignment with project requirements.
Cost Control and Reporting:
- Implement effective cost control measures throughout the project lifecycle.
- Generate regular progress reports detailing quantity surveying findings, As-Built updates, and cost variances.
- Analyze data to identify potential cost-saving opportunities and mitigate financial risks.
Quality Assurance and Compliance:
- Ensure adherence to relevant standards, codes, and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct quality inspections to verify construction quality and compliance with specifications.
- Address any non-conformities promptly and implement corrective actions as necessary.
Communication and Coordination:
- Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, contractors, and subcontractors to facilitate smooth project execution.
- Communicate effectively to resolve queries, clarify requirements, and maintain productive working relationships.
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor with specific expertise in As-Built documentation, leveling, and pegging.
- Proficiency in quantity take-off software and familiarity with project management tools.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team environment.
- Knowledge of relevant industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
