Introduction

A large JSE Stockbroker requires the services of a client onboarding specialist. The role requires interaction directly with asset and wealth managers. The candidate will be responsible to onboard new clients and to ensure compliance to KYC requirements. The role also involves performing regular reviews and remediation of client data. The candidate will work with various internal small dynamic teams in a high pressurised environment.

The role is not a compliance officer role but a specialist onboarding role.
Must have min 3 years exp in financial services doing onboarding and KYC

The key responsibilities are:

Engage with clients via phone, email and other means to assist in the client onboarding process and drive a high response rate

- Effective and timeous dissemination of onboarding requirements to clients

- Follow-up and collection of completed documentation

- Test client response against requirements

- Save supporting documentation

- Verify client details on external systems

- Load client details onto in-house onboarding system

- Capture client agreed fees and other commercial information on various systems

Interact with clients and relationship managers to drive and facilitate any additional / corrections during AML/KYC review process.

Coordinate with relationship managers, trade support and group compliance to understand complex client structures and communicate requirements to clients.

Perform process controls including, but not limited to, exceptions monitoring, data integrity, key performance and risk indicators.

Key contributor to continuous process improvement.

Keep abreast of changes in KYC and regulatory requirements.

Strategic planning for both short term and long term improvements to the onboarding process.

Preferred Qualification and Experience

Exceptional people skills.

Ability to communicate in a clear and concise fashion, both verbally and in writing.

Strong attention to detail and organisation skills.

Ability to work under pressure and multitask.

Knowledge of the JSE BDA system is advantageous.

Experience of compliance, know your client and AML policies.

Tertiary education.

Proficiency with MS Office products.
