Main purpose of the job:
- To ensure accurate mapping of clinical trial data into a harmonised database, support data acquisition processes, apply for ethics notifications, and assist senior staff in improving the data harmonisation platform from a clinical standpoint
Location:
Key performance areas:
- Accurately map variables against the HEAT centre codebook
- Understand clinical and demographic variables in the study
- Coordinate with data providers for timely and actuate data acquisition
- Apply for ethics notifications and ensure compliance with ethical guidelines
- collaborate with senior staff to improve the data harmonisation platform
- Address issues in data mapping and harmonisation proactively
- Perform regular quality checks on data mappings and harmonised datasets
- Ensure clinical records and data mappings are maintained as per GCP regulations
- Generate regular reports on data mapping progress and quality checks
Required minimum education and training:
- Bachelor of Clinical Medical Practice (BCMP) Degree
Required minimum work experience:
- Minimum of 1 – 2 years’ experience in an administrative role
Professional body registration:
- Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA)
Desirable additional education, work experience and personal abilities:
- Good Clinical Practice (GCP) Certificate would be advantageous
- Own reliable transport would be advantageous
- Should be able to work under pressure and adhere to strict work deadlines
- Incumbent should maintain diplomacy, confidentiality and professionalism at all times
- Strong managerial and organisational skills with attention to detail
- Should be comfortable with using technology to streamline processes
