The successful candidate will be responsible for providing accurate and timely financial information, supporting cost control initiatives, and ensuring the effective management of company resources. This role is critical to our financial strategy and operational efficiency.
Duties:
- Cost Accounting:Analyse production costs and prepare detailed cost reports to assist management in decision-making.
- Budgeting and Forecasting:Develop, implement, and monitor budgets, forecasts, and financial plans.
- Financial Reporting:Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
- Variance Analysis:Conduct variance analysis between actual and budgeted costs, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
- Inventory Management:Oversee inventory valuation, control procedures, and periodic stock takes.
- Cost Reduction:Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement strategies to improve financial performance.
- Internal Controls:Maintain and enhance internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial data.
- Collaboration:Work closely with various departments to gather financial information, support business operations, and provide financial guidance.
Job Experience & Skills Required:
Qualifications:
- Matric (Grade 12)
- BCom in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- BCom Honours
- Professional accounting certification CIMA is highly desirable
Experience:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in cost and management accounting, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organisational and time-management abilities.
