We are sourcing candidates interested in an opportunity as a Group Cost Accountant to join the Senior Management Team for our Group of Companies. The purpose of the position is to perform as an agile project manager within the scope of Cost Accounting which requires the incumbent to oversee a range of accounting functions and drive informed business decisions by analyzing data and finding cost-efficient solutions. Cost Standards and Variance Analysis: Collecting and analyzing data on operational costs. Setting standard costs for manufactured goods Establishing costs for business processes (e.g., administration, labor, Develop and implement cost standards for materials and labour and shipping). Conducting cost-volume-profit (CVP) analysis. Monitor unit cost variances and analyze discrepancies. Implement cost accounting systems to track expenses accurately. Preparing audit reports and presenting findings to management. Recommending process and policy changes to reduce costs and maximize profit. Advising executives on appropriate costing based on financial data. Production Cost Analysis: Analyze production costs, including raw materials, overhead expenses, and operational expenditures. Identify areas for cost reduction and efficiency improvement. Collaborate with relevant departments to control and reduce costs where possible. Performing account reconciliations. Gross Margin Reporting: Managing the company's balance sheet and accounting books. Prepare and analyze monthly and quarterly gross margin reports by product, customer, and various Business Units for each company in the group. Review cost allocation assumptions and rates. Bill of Materials (BOM) Maintenance: Maintain accurate BOMs to ensure cost accuracy in the system. KPIs: Costing of projects / jobs: materials, labour ect. (Pre and Post project) Overseeing the day-to-day running of the accounts department. Oversee supplier invoices and matching them to payments. Oversee / Reconciling supplier accounts. Implement cost saving initiatives in conjunction with Management Team Any other adhoc duties assigned by management. Experience with cost accounting systems. Applicable tertiary qualification (Accounting or finance diploma/degree) At least 5 years related experience, including managing a team. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, Google Suite and other relevant software and tools Knowledge of the marine and or manufacturing industry and its suppliers and vendors advantageous Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Knowledge of ERP systems Drivers license plus own reliable transport. Market Related based on Skills and Experience
