Working hours – Monday – Friday: 6:30 - 16:30 Peak season will depend on operational requirements A Well-established firm within the Agricultural sector has an opportunity for an experienced Crop Farm Manager to join their team in Bronkhorstspruit area. Minimum Requirements: Matric 5 years' experience on crops, especially focusing on maize (1000 ha) Working experience in a management role Computer Literate (Gmail, Excel, or Google Sheets, Adobe) Strong knowledge of agricultural practices, crop management, and farm equipment Proficiency in farm management software and record-keeping. Ability to work longer hours during planting and harvest seasons. Duties will include but not limited to: In charge of the whole crop division Crop Planning and Management: Develop and implement crop plans for the season, focusing on maize and other crops. Monitor crop growth and make decisions to optimize yield and quality. Ordering and Procurement: Order seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, and other necessary supplies. Maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement. Planting Operations: Plan and oversee the planting process, ensuring correct planting techniques and optimal planting times. Driver and Tractor Organization: Schedule and organize drivers and tractors for planting, maintenance, and harvesting operations. Ensure all machinery is well-maintained and in good working condition. I mplement Management: Oversee the use and maintenance of farming implements and machinery. Ensure all implements are used efficiently and safely. Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of all farming activities, including planting dates, crop treatments, and harvest yields. Use farm management software to keep records organized and accessible. Team Management: Supervise and train farm workers, drivers, and equipment operators. Ensure all team members are following safety protocols and farm procedures. Harvesting: Plan and oversee the harvesting process, ensuring timely and efficient harvests. Coordinate storage and transportation of harvested crops. Compliance and Safety: Ensure compliance with all agricultural regulations and safety standards.
