The Data Architect is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining the data architecture and infrastructure for OUTsurance Ireland. This will include working with the business to understand their data needs, designing and implementing a data architecture and managing the data lifecycle. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the Microsoft Synapse ecosystem and be able to apply their knowledge to solve complex data challenges in a dynamic start-up environment. Responsibilities : Develop a data architecture and roadmap aligned with the overall business strategy Define the architecture and design for data management using the Microsoft Synapse ecosystem including Azure Data Lake, Azure Data Factory and Azure Machine Learning Design and implement solutions that provide the business with a range of reporting outcomes using data from a variety of system and transactional storage solutions with a range of data freshness requirements Develop data models and database designs to support the needs of OUTsurance Ireland. Assist with architecting machine learning solutions which include monitoring and training ML models Collaborate with stakeholders and IT team members to implement a data governance framework Ensure the data architecture complies with data privacy and security policies Work closely with the Principal Architect and IT teams to ensure alignment between transactional and analytical system environments Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field Minimum job requirements: 5 years of experience in data architecture and engineering Strong understanding of the Microsoft Synapse ecosystem Experience with data modelling and schemas Experience with adding machine learning solutions to the overall data and analytics architecture Experience with data security and governance Experience with troubleshooting data problems Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills An ideal candidate will be able to align their personal work values to the OUTsurance values. Enthusiastic in dealing with people in a stressful, deadline orientated environment is essential.
