Deal Compliance and Adminstration Officer - Cape Town Region

Purpose of the role – the ideal EE person to provide lending administrative support in respect to the compliance function related to deal execution and post transaction monitoring. Salary: Market Related Job Description: Deal Compliance and Administration Officer Dissemination of application form (or link) to prospective borrowers and collation of relevant information and related supporting documents in accordance with Paragon’s credit review process Conducting various searches on existing and prospective clients (Deeds Searches, PEP, CIPC searches and credit checks) Instructing property valuations in respect to new deals and existing clients on an annual basis and assisting with the preparation of valuation summary reports as and when required Administrative support with a view to ensuring compliance with all conditions precedent per deal prior to disbursement of funds Assistance with formatting and amendment of agreements and letters on an ad hoc basis Maintaining and updating compliance registers in relation to rates/levies and insurance on a regular basis. Uploading information onto Paragon’s Loan Management System once operational Keeping client folders in the electronic and hardcopy filing system up to date, complete and free of duplication Importation of data and scanning and attaching of loan documentation into Paragon’s loan management system, including but not limited to loan agreements, facility letters, resolutions, bonds, guarantees and indemnities, title deeds and supplementary agreements Regular communication with clients and external third parties (insurance brokers/local authorities/body corporates/Managing agents/Home Owners Associations/Auditors/Attorneys) in relation to outstanding documentation including but not limited to FICA, rates and levy statements, insurance policies (life and property), management accounts and unsigned documentation Ensuring safe custody of original loan agreements, guarantees and related security documents Assistance with general borrower related queries and administration Assistance with the preparation and transmission of standard internally drafted breach notices, annual review notices, notifications regarding interest rate fluctuations and letters of demand NDA completion and filing Mandate completion and filing Archiving and filing of electronic documents Research on clients and industry material in general Research on regulations impacting Paragon and its clients and being able to correspond with attorneys to obtain opinions i.e. FICA, POPIA, etc. Basic company secretarial work such as drafting of company resolutions and maintenance of company registers i.e. Disclosure of Financial Interest and others Chairing weekly meetings, compilation of board packs and keeping Minutes of board and sub-committee meetings. Qualifications and experience: Qualified Paralegal with 2-4 years’ experience working in the conveyancing department of a firm or deal administrator in similar industry (i.e. other financial service providers). Key Attributes: Deep understanding of the impact and risk associated with non-compliance with internal processes and relevant legislation (FICA, POPIA etc.) Attention to detail & Numeracy Skills Strong organizational skills and a professional work ethic Be able to perform under pressure and to handle multiple assignments; Be dependable and display the ability to complete assignments on time and to carry out instructions Be cooperative, considerate and tactful in dealing with clients, colleagues and other stakeholders Be a strong communicator (verbal and written) and have the ability to express thoughts clearly and concisely Apply Now
