Basic skills in Project Management are a requirement
Responsibilities:
Product Engineering:
Development of new products, inclusive of, but not limited to, automotive styling accessories.
Consultation with both internal and external customers.
Ensuring all design and process requirements are met, with key design considerations being part quality, cost of manufacture and production efficiency.
Continuous improvement of products and processes, inclusive of, but not limited to, design changes, quality improvements and process improvements.
Generation of supporting documentation, inclusive of, but not limited to, customer & manufacturing drawings, process work instructions, product fitment instructions and promotional materials.
Process Engineering:
Manufacturing-process design to industrialize products using either available facilities/capacity or most efficient alternatives.
Jig/fixture/tooling design to support industrialization of both new and current products, in collaboration with production.
Management of jig/tooling/fixture manufacture and active involvement in the handover and introduction into production with product engineering.
Generation of process work instructions for existing and newly developed processes or equipment.
Validation of process by measuring off tool product accuracy to design specification.
Project Management:
Leadership and management of project progress from product design inception to process handover.
Problem Investigation:
Participation in root cause analysis of product design and process problems.
Implementation of effective countermeasures to prevent flow out and occurrence.
