Primary Purpose of the Job: Drive marketing and communications activities at bulk herbal tea supply company. Prepare, write, and design communications and marketing material in alignment with company brand for external and internal circulation. Use digital tools (newsletter, social media, etc.) to strengthen client relationships. Conduct market research and assist develop strategies to reach new clients and markets. KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS 1. Content Creation and Publication - Produce content to improve brand awareness and promote tea product as a category (proficiencies: graphic design software, MSOffice, Photo editing software) - Manage social media platforms (Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram) - Maintain website (Wix) - Copy writing and content writing: website, blog post, social media captions, etc. - Identify content creation needs based on market and customer requirements - Weekly social media post - Monthly newsletter with 3-5 stories - 2-weekly blog post - Content produced in timely manner as per sales and marketing manager's deadlines - Monthly social media analytics report - Overall growth in social media following and engagement over time, to the satisfaction of S&M manager and directors 2. Communications and Marketing Collateral - Assist in drafting of external and internal communications (emails, statements, newsletters, reports) as requested on occasion by manager or directors - Production of marketing collateral (brochures, pitch decks, reports, videos, etc.) as requested on occasion by manager or directors - Identify marketing collateral and communications needs based on market and customer requirements - Timely delivery of well-designed and well-written marketing collateral, in alignment with company values and messaging. 3. Client Relationship Management - Optimize client relationship mechanisms and sales funnel through different touch points. - Offer ideas and help coordinate campaigns to improve client relationships. - Identify any short falls in customer journey and work with sales department to resolve issues. - Good customer experience maintained throughout sales process. 4. Brand Management - Continuous improvement of brand identity on all platforms (analog and digital) - Coordination of campaigns to improve perception of the company among existing and prospective clients. - Work with Sales and Marketing Manager, Sales Manager: Europe, and Sales and Marketing Assistant to ensure branded materials are aligned with company brand identity. - Strong brand identity visible across all customer touch points 5. Market Research - Keep track of industry trends (consumer trends and business trends) in herbal tea industry, tea industry, etc. present these to manager and directors. - Research specific topics as required by Sales and Marketing Manager and Directors on occasion. - Review monthly export analytics and discuss with manager and director to inform marketing strategy. - Monthly research on new industry trends - Special research projects completed to the satisfaction of the Sales and Marketing Manager and Directors 6. Lead Generation - Find new clients of the company and unlock new business - Find new leads, make contact, send product samples and quotations, before handing over to sales department. - Continue efforts - Minimum of 30 new clients contacted per month - Keep track of clients contacted, leads generated, in up-to-date database 7. Special Projects - The Digital Marketing and Communications Coordinator may on occasion be asked to coordinate projects that, although not immediately related to marketing and communications, will in the long-term have an impact on the marketability of the company. - These projects include but are not limited to: - New Product Development: Participate in biweekly NPD meeting, offer marketing insights. Drive selected NPD projects in partnership with R&D Technologist. - Carbon Footprint: Conduct annual analysis of company's carbon emissions, drive project to reduce emissions in collaboration with production team, managing director, and financial director. - Social Responsibility: Help coordinate corporate social responsibility campaigns - Agree on timelines and deliverables for special projects with management, and ensure projects are completed successfully. Education and/or Experience Honours degree or 4-year degree Degree/qualification in agricultural marketing, marketing, or communications would be advantageous Minimum of 1 years work experience in a similar role Other skills that are advantageous: Basic/Intermediate Photographic Skills: Photography and Photo Editing Understanding of Graphic Design principles and basic proficiency in graphic design software (Canva/Photoshop/Illustrator) Experience creating content for and posting on social media Experience in market research Computer Skill: Intermediate proficiency in MSOffice Suite Proficient in graphic design and video/photo editing software Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
