Job title: Director of Operations
Our client is seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Operations to lead and drive the business forward in a fast-paced environment. The client is evolving from its family-owned roots to a profit-focused enterprise, and we need a dynamic leader to oversee our operations.
About the Role:
- Managing cost of goods sold, income, scheduling, PNL, suppliers, reporting, finance, operations, and systems.
- Overseeing ordering, production runs, business processes, and overall bottom-line performance.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Develop and implement operational strategies to increase efficiency and profitability.
- Monitor and manage daily operations to ensure smooth workflow and adherence to budgetary constraints.
- Collaborate with the finance team to prepare and analyse financial reports, budgets, and forecasts.
- Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers, negotiating contracts and ensuring timely delivery of quality products.
- Optimize production runs and inventory management to minimize waste and reduce costs.
- Implement and monitor business processes and systems to improve operational performance.
- Lead, mentor, and motivate staff to achieve company goals and foster a positive work environment.
- Prepare and present regular reports on operational performance to senior management.
Ideal Candidate:
- Significant experience in operations management, ideally in FMCG, hospitality, or food and beverage sectors.
- Proven track record in a similar role within an SME/private company
- Strong financial acumen with the ability to read financial books but a preference for operational roles over financial management.
- A profit-loss mentality and a deep understanding of business processes and systems.
Salary:
- Basic salary of R80,000 per month, open to negotiation and dependent on experience.
- Annual bonus based on performance.
Location:
- In the store in Grabow.
