Description SCOPE OF THE ROLE To provide remote system and site-based support to the Company Mining customers. To develop procedures and system reports in response to the CUSTOMER'S requests and needs. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Health and Safety Comply with all health and safety measures in place on the CUSTOMER'S mine sites Clearly understand and comply with all the rules and regulations that exist on the CUSTOMER'S mine sites and seek help if any confusion Ensure that colleagues comply with health and safety regulations and address any irregularities Maintain safe environment by enforcing procedures, rules, and regulations Seek to identify and propose procedures that can improve health and safety in the workplace Personnel Foster an environment that supports technical staff and allows them to succeed. Provide coaching of colleagues to build capacity and morale. Identify and recommend training opportunities for self and colleagues. Duties Monitor and respond to system events on a computer terminal. These events are critical as they can prevent accidents from occurring. Notify internal support team on unusual circumstances. Provide internal daily report of system behaviors at customer sites. Provide reports to customers SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE Focused, prompt, and proactive individuals Computer literate Good communication skills (English, French) Good report writing skills. Knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel Know how to use e-mail KEY BEHAVIOUR Protect the company brand and reputation by exhibiting good behavior and reporting on any noncompliance to safety, procedural, or other customer dictated regulations Maintain good relations with the customer ‘s personnel and clearly communicate any issues that may arise Establish and maintain effective working relationships with managers, technicians and engineers Continuously seek opportunities to improve the quality of the systems, installations, and support procedures EDUCATION BACKGROUND Grade 12, computer studies, MS products certificate advantageous. National diploma in Computer science, IT, electronics engineering. At least 1 year of experience. TRAVEL Minimal – Based in the Johannesburg office, might be required to travel to site when required.
