Reference: CPT003673-Del-1 Are you an Electrical Engineer in the solar energy industry with exposure to 500KW and above? Our client in the Somerset West area is needing your expertise in commercial and agricultural areas of Electrical Engineering in regard to solar energy installation. Knowledge of Eskom codes and regulations is essential. This is an organization that prioritizes staff wellbeing and a cohesive working environment. There will be occasional travel required both locally and internationally, depending on projects. REQUIREMENTS Matric, relevant qualification advantageous PrEng is not a requirement but will be an advantage. Proven knowledge of engineering design software and equipment Experience with PV Sol and Homer software. (won't necessarily do the design but need to understand the designs and be able to pick up mistakes) X-x years' experience in similar role Ability to design, implement, install and maintain electrical systems Excellent analytical skills Outstanding written and oral communication skills Attention to detail Knowledge of electronic engineering codes Ability to write technical reports and documentation DUTIES Provide operations, service, and sales departments with engineering support as needed. Understand the optimal design applications and design limitations of our standard products and lead the evaluation of alternate products. Creating plans for developing, monitoring, and evaluating a solar electrical system Design and engineer solar PV systems by conducting site assessments, and energy production analyses. Develop system layouts, electrical single-line diagrams (SLDs), and component specifications to optimize system performance and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations. Determine system size, configuration, and component selection based on customer needs, site conditions. Providing and updating BOQ's/BOM's for projects. Prepare detailed technical documents, system specifications, design calculations, and drawings. Stay up to date with local, regional, and national codes, standards, and regulations related to solar PV system design and installation. Ensure designs and installations adhere to safety guidelines and obtain necessary permits and certifications. Develop quality assurance procedures to verify the accuracy and integrity of solar PV system designs. Conduct inspections and audits during the installation and commissioning stages to ensure adherence to design specifications.
