An aerospace engineering and consulting firm with a vast network of industry experts and partners, is wanting to expand their small, but highly skilled team that delivers innovative solutions in aerospace, propulsion, and systems engineering. Core competencies encompass Design, Simulation, Assembly, Integration, and Testing. Their Avionics engineering team and are looking for a practical, enthusiastic, and experienced Electronics Design Engineer who excels in teamwork. This role focuses on electronic circuit development, requiring comprehensive unit, subsystem, and system testing to ensure all functional requirements are met · Design and develop avionics electric and electronic circuits for aerospace products. · Design and develop power electronic circuits, including those for 3-phase BLDC electric motors. · Design and develop general analog, digital, and microprocessor electronic circuits. · Incorporate DO-160G Environmental Requirements (EMI, EMC, vibration, shock, etc.) into designs. · Select electronic components that meet functional and environmental requirements. · Develop prototypes to confirm and validate design concepts. · Design printed circuit boards (PCBs) within allocated space claims inside enclosures. · Conduct thermal analyses and simulations during design to optimize heat dissipation. · Manage the procurement of PCBs from qualified and certified manufacturers. · Manage the population of PCBs by qualified and certified vendors. · Create applicable specification and test documentation (configuration & version control). · Conduct quality and unit testing of populated circuit boards. · Establish a firmware development environment suitable for C code. · Develop C firmware code compliant with MISRA 2012 and DO-178C. · Test C firmware code in accordance with relevant specifications. · Participate in system and subsystem design reviews that involve developed electronic subsystems. · Transfer knowledge and experience to avionics team members as required Minimum B.Eng degree in Electronic or Electrical Engineering. · Minimum of 3 years' work experience in designing electronic circuits, with a focus on power electronics. · Hands-on experience with electric and electronic prototyping. · Experience with the STM32 range of microcontrollers. · Experience in developing embedded C firmware code. Additional Advantageous Qualifications: · M.Eng degree in Electronics or Electrical Engineering, or a similar qualification related to electronic and electrical circuit design and development. · Prior experience in an avionics/electronic engineering environment (military and/or commercial). · Knowledge of and experience in avionics hardware certification and/or qualification Market related salary
