Senior Electronic Hardware Engineer - Cape Town City Centre
We are seeking a Senior Electronic Hardware Engineer to join our team. The successful incumbent will be responsible for the design, development, and testing of advanced electronic hardware for aerospace and UAV systems. The quality of our products is of utmost concern and the Senior Hardware Engineer ensures that our designs and production components meet these levels meet military and aerospace DO-160 and MIL-STD-704 standards. This position is based in Cape Town.

- Design LRUs (Line Replaceable Units) Electronic Hardware Products (including Altium CAD and PCB Layout) according to Specifications.
- Assisting the testing teams in developing automated tools for production.
- Support the system engineer with technical expertise.
- Implement, measure and evaluate prototype or production-ready designs.
- Arrange and participate in design reviews.
- Initiate and/or participate in the establishment of critical technologies/capabilities in the company.
- Prepare and maintain documentation such as specifications, design datapacks and test procedures.
- Engineering degree with applicable post grad qualification preferred.
- 5-10 years experience with competence in electronics hardware design including schematic design, CAD and PCB layout, circuit simulation, test jigs and automated production tools.
- Above average knowledge of component procurement, where to find what, who makes what and what to trust.
- Experience in aviation or military development environments, with knowledge of applicable standards and practices would be advantageous
