We are seeking a motivated and skilled Project Engineer/Manager to join our team in the heavy industry sector. The Project Engineer/Manager will be responsible for overseeing engineering aspects of projects, from initial design through to completion, ensuring adherence to technical specifications, safety standards, and project timelines. This role requires strong technical proficiency, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality results in heavy industrial settings. This role requires at least 5 years in managing high value capital projects Industry: Heavy Industrial Manufacturing Location: Richards Bay, KZN (Fixed Term Contract) Primary responsibilities are: Working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders Prepare, schedule, coordinate and monitor the assigned engineering projects Monitor compliance to applicable codes, practices, QA/QC policies, performance standards and specifications Interact with the clients to interpret their needs and requirements and represent them in the field Perform overall quality control of the work (budget, schedule, plans, personnel's performance) and report regularly on project status Assign responsibilities and mentor project team Cooperate and communicate effectively with project manager and other project participants to provide assistance and technical support Review engineering deliverables and initiate appropriate corrective actions Management and coordination of engineering projects and studies Manage the front-end loading for engineering projects. Manage the execution of projects and studies, from concept to completion. Manage the interfaces between multidisciplinary engineering team, and between engineering and supply chain or construction management. Identify and develop the scope of work for the projects. Ensure all projects are delivered timeously within scope and budget Ensure all principles of health, safety, environment and quality are maintained Minimum Qualifications: Diploma/Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering fields Project Management Qualification (Preferred) MS Projects Certifications (Preferred) ECSA Registration (Pr.Eng or Pr.Tech Eng) Knowledge, skills, and experience Required: Minimum of 5 years engineering/capital project management experience in heavy industry field Working knowledge of the project lifecycle process from need identification through conceptualization, engineering, detail design, fabrication, manufacturing, testing, commissioning, and handover Proven work experience in project management of Capex projects Technical Knowledge of equipment Working knowledge of budgets, estimation and cost control Good communication skills with clients and relevant stakeholders Time management and Organizational skills Strong interpersonal skills, Judgment and Decision making Market related
