As Project Engineer for our client, you will assist in all engineering elements of the project lifecycle from designing renewable energy systems, to precisely predicting project costings, to accurately calculating system productions and ensuring designed systems are operating at optimal level. RESPONSIBILITIES Analyse technical information from RFPs and tenders, developing compiled documents with cost-saving, time-efficient, and performance-optimized solutions Prepare bill of quantities for project infrastructures Generate preliminary layouts using software like AutoCAD, Helioscope, and PV Case Conduct site visits and measurements if drawings are unavailable Perform desktop analysis, preparing site layouts, and assessing energy yield Create electrical schematics aligned with standards like SANS, NRS, and IEC Conduct yield assessments using software like PVSYST and Helioscope Collaborate with the central engineering team on detailed engineering drawings and technical descriptions Analyse Grid operator information for Grid Code compliance and design PV Plants accordingly Coordinate with procurement team to align project design with requirements Complete interconnection drawings, bid sets, construction sets, and as-built drawings for solar and battery energy storage projects Coordinate with clients, consultants, and authorities for drawing approvals Provide technical support during commercial negotiations Develop design, cost, schedule plan, and quality for project engineering Assist engineering and business development teams with engineering solutions Review and approve material purchases based on project requirements Assist in project financial control Pre-approve Engineering shop drawings and present them for final approval SKILLS Highly proficient in the use of AutoCAD Software Proficient in PVSyst and Helioscope (Homer Pro advantageous) Advanced use of MS Office Suite Analytical approach to problem solving Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Results-driven Valid driver's license EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS Bachelor of science or engineering in relevant field EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS 2-6 years of experience as a Project Engineer in solar PV space of the renewable energy industry Registered Professional Engineer (ECSA) Apply Now
