RESPONSIBILITIES This role involves analysing technical information, preparing documents for RFPs and tenders, and finding innovative solutions to reduce costs and optimise project performance. Responsibilities include creating bill of quantities, generating layouts on software like AutoCAD, conducting site visits, and performing desktop analyses. The role also involves generating electrical schematics, performing yield assessments using simulation software, and collaborating with the central engineering team. Additionally, you would ensure compliance with Grid Code requirements, coordinating with the procurement team, and manage project approvals. In terms of project management, the role includes providing technical support to the business development team, assisting with engineering solutions for planned projects, reviewing and approving material purchases, and monitoring construction progress. SKILLS Proficient in AutoCAD, PVSyst, PVCase, and Helioscope (Homer Pro advantageous) Advanced MS Office suite proficiency (MS Project, Smartsheet) Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong negotiation skills Results-driven Valid driver's license EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS Bachelors degree in electrical engineering or mechatronic engineering Registered with ECSA EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS 4 years of experience in the South African solar space Experience working with rooftop, ground mount, or carport projects in the C&I sector Battery storage experience would be advantageous R600k - R900k CTC per annum
