Job DescriptionDirect and oversee the Non-Life function by coordinating personnel, implementing procedures, and facilitating interactions to ensure the effective assessment and reporting of technical provisions and capital necessities for the company's non-life insurance operations across its territories.
Responsibilities- Lead strategic initiatives aligning with company goals for sales growth and client satisfaction.
- Provide executive guidance on financial and risk matters, supporting planning with analyses.
- Establish uniform reporting frameworks and protocols across operations.
- Offer strategic insights to optimize financial performance and capitalize on opportunities.
- Contribute to strategic planning within the Non-Life division.
- Develop and maintain robust actuarial valuation and capital modelling practices.
- Ensure accuracy of technical provisions and regulatory capital assessments.
- Oversee acquisition of policy data, accounting records, and asset information.
- Cultivate trust-based relationships with stakeholders.
- Uphold competitive edge through networking and benchmarking.
- Collaborate on enhancements to service offerings based on client needs.
- Lead team to foster a positive work environment and productivity.
- Recruit and onboard professionals aligned with company values.

Education- Qualified Actuary (Fellow Member of the Actuarial Society of South Africa (FASSA))
- Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science or relevant
Job Experience & Skills Required- 8 years of work experience (predominantly in the non-life space)
- Management experience
- Proficiency in Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), and fundamental risk management principles
- Familiarity with Enterprise Risk Management (ERM), Own Risk and Solvency Assessment (ORSA), and Solvency Assessment and Management (SAM) practices and principles
