A local supplier of water pumps and irrigation fittings and other related fluid control products is looking to employ an experienced Export Trader to service the African Markets. The ideal candidate must be competent in pump sales and design of hydraulic pumps systems, including agricultural pump sets. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Responsibilities include receiving quotations and respond in writing and verbally, producing proforma invoices and send to Customer for approval • Travelling to African countries to meet Customer and to grow the Company's client base • Negotiate prices, do market research, and find out about upcoming projects • Initiate transport quotations with approved Hauliers and arrange for the transportation of the cargo • Initiating the opening of Customer accounts, margins, and guidance on risks • Liaising with Customers regarding the dispatching of consignments • Prioritizing workflow as requested by team members and ensuring the work is prioritized as per instruction • Verifying the accuracy of transport invoices, proof of delivery and ensuring the same are processed for payment • Management of key accounts • Source new business • Maintaining and building relationships with customers • Keeping up to date with current market trends MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Must have experience in Export trading into Africa Have existing contacts with listed mines vendors in other countries Key Accounts Management; source new business; client retention; marketing; meetings; reports & feedback. sales & budgets; market research; visit to African markets Product knowledge in pumps or irrigation fittings Have existing contacts in other countries Able to speak Portuguese or French will be an added advantage but not a necessity. Valid passport and able to travel into Africa regularly Syspro experience will be an advantage Must have a valid drivers' licence
