Rolls-Royce Solutions South Africa (Pty) Ltd currently has vacant positions for 3 x Field Service Technician(s) to be based in Johannesburg. Objective of Job: Execute high level fault finding, maintenance and repairs on Rolls-Royce Power Systems products which includes mtu diesel and gas engines (500kW to 3300kW), automation systems and complete product systems such as Kinectic and Battery Power Sytems in various applications. You will be required to be on standby over periods, work onsite for periods of time, and travel throughout Sub-Saharan Africa as well as in South Africa to provide the customer with a professional, high quality service. You may work as part of a team or work independently and maintain a high level of accuracy and safety, while performing your duties. Carry out all repairs on our customer's site on the full product range offered by Rolls-Royce Power Systems which will include mechanical, electrical and electronic systems to the highest standard. Complete risk assessments before any commencement of work to identify and mitigate risks. Assist in completing method statements related to safety file requirements by Customers. Assure that you are working within the MTU standards, specifications and processes to avoid rework. Comply with OHS ISO 9001, 17001, 18001 standards and procedures. Ensure a safe working environment at all times and report incidents as well as near misses. Ensure that all repairs carried out are completed within the MTU times. Report additional work to the Field Service Supervisor for discussion with our customers to achieve pro- active selling and world-class service to our customers. Ensure the proper handling of the special tools and report on breakages immediately to the responsible Supervisor. Assist all technical staff in your team in the workshop and in the field with the job at hand. Complete and submit field service reports in a timely manner on a daily basis. Ensure that all warranty and core return Parts are labelled and send to the warranty store. Involve the Field Service Supervisor in warranty decision-making. Assure that your time sheet is completed every day and forwarded to the Field Service Supervisor for verification and processing. Ensure that all cores are returned for credit after completion of the job. Collect, analyse and summarize information in order to prepare technical reports. Special jobs and tasks as per request by the Field Service Supervisor. Represent the company in a professional manner at all times. Must have valid drivers license. Valid National Qualification in Millwright. Minimum of 5 years' experience in both electrical and mechanical field operations in various applications such as engine, power generation, marine and industrial will be an advantage.
