Finance Manager To support the Finance function and organisation holistically as an Accounts payable controller. The role will be in support of and aligned to the overall Finance Department KPI’s as listed below. Accounting records, budgets and costings are prepared and maintained accurately and timeously. Ownership and Responsibility to ensure controls are implemented and maintained to protect the business and reduce the risk of negative financial impacts. Provide reports to support business and decision making - the reports should be accurate, timely, relevant, and insightful. Managing cashflow and working capital to support to support profitability and preserve cash. Finance as a business partner should hold the business accountable for decisions made, while continuously supporting the business strategy, goals, and budgets. Requirements B Com in Accounting or Finance Chartered Management Accountant (CIMA) or CA(SA) Skills Leadership and staff management skills Tech savvy Honesty and integrity Minimum 5 years commercial experience Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards Experience in managing budgets and financial planning processes. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Experience in a manufacturing organization preferred. Sage Evolution Experience advantageous Finance and Admin Duties Manage and oversee the financial operations of the factory, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis. Develop and maintain financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements. Prepare and present financial reports and analysis to management and other stakeholders. Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard the assets of the company. Provide financial advice and support to management on business decisions, investment opportunities, and strategic planning. Forecast cash flow and manage working capital to ensure the efficient operation of the factory. Reports: Weekly performance report Monthly management accounts Reconciliation between weekly and monthly accounts Budgets: Annual budget preparation Performance to budget analysis Assistance in annual audit process Financial Project Management Accounting projects Ensure timely month end closure of accounts. Review and approval of journals Authorising payments Inventory control (see Warehouse duties) Resolving escalated queries on customer, supplier, and inventory issues Raw materials receipts, Supplier mass balance weekly report Bom review align to and correct Production reports from factory. Review finance team accounting work and allocations Purchase order approvals Warehouse Duties Planning and organizing warehouse layouts, workflow, and processes to maximize efficiency and productivity. Implementing and maintaining inventory management systems and processes to ensure accurate inventory tracking and reporting. Preparing and presenting reports on warehouse operations, inventory levels, and trends. Oversee weekly and monthly stock counts, investigating and reporting variances, overseeing processing of adjustments. Oversee day to day operations in the warehouse including the following: Organisation of warehouse Labelling of stock in warehouse Timely flow of paperwork from warehouse to head office Ensure timely dispatch of stock. Management of warehouse staff Warehouse and equipment hygiene IT Duties Manage and maintain the company's technology infrastructure, including hardware, software, and networks. Assist to ensure continued internet connectivity. Work with other departments to identify their technology needs and develop solutions to meet those needs. Develop and maintain strong relationships with technology vendors and service providers. Provide assistance with any IT related issues. Oversight of installation of new IT equipment including security cameras Procurement Duties Oversee levels of diesel, coal, packaging and more to ensure orders are places timely. Consolidate purchases of materials, consumables, and services Negotiate payments terms on supplier accounts to effectively manage working capital. Streamline procurement process for repeat purchases (PPE, Standard Maintenance spares, Standard Mechanic consumables etc) Supplier and service providers contract management Review/issue/support tender process Management Duties Day to day management of staff Admin Finance Warehouse Development and training of staff Recruitment of staff (In collaboration with HR) Writing and implementing standard operating procedures Performance management and review of staff Disciplining staff Back Up Duties Provide cover for Finance Manager and Director as needed.
