6 Month contract role For Finance Solutions Analyst with top tier company in the Financial Services / Banking sector for a seasoned individual with the necessary know-how.
Purpose of the role:The individual in this role will be expected to grow into a valued, trusted Business Partner to CFOs, Heads of Finance, Group Finance and Accountants by bridging the gap between Finance and Technology.
Responsibilities:- Thoroughly understand the Finance Architecture and Finance Reporting
- Be a Finance expert in the company and industry trends in the relevant product or business area (i.e. industry and competitor trends and cycles)
- Clearly understand and document the Finance business requirements to enable Finance Enablement to develop solutions against those requirements
- Responsible for ensuring quality and timely delivery by the Finance Enablement team before handover to Finance
- Motivate for proposed changes / improvements in the Finance area by writing business cases where relevant to assist in the Business Unit (BU) / Functional Area (FA) prioritisation process
- Stakeholder Management
Qualifications:- Minimum bachelors degree or Diploma in Finance/Business Information Systems. Honours level in the disciplines would be advantageous
Experience:
- Minimum 3-5 years Finance/Business Analysis experience. Project experience in Finance and Technology would be advantageous
Duties and responsibilities: Understanding of Finance Architecture, Finance and user Requirements- Detailed understanding of the Finance Architecture to aid with assessing the impact of the change and requirements in the architecture o Includes but is not limited to how the source systems output data for Finance, and how this data is consumed in the Finance Architecture to produce the relevant reporting needs
- Understanding of the reporting requirements and the impact of the change thereto
- Analyse business from all aspects to develop an in-depth understanding
- Ensure a clear understanding of business and finance processes and supporting business roles and structures
- Liaise with stakeholders to elicit, analyse, communicate and validate requirements
- Facilitate workshops with stakeholders to elicit requirements
- Compile training material in conjunction with Finance Enablement, and provide end-user training to stakeholders where relevant
Market and Industry Expertise- Be an expert in market changes and industry trends by remaining on the forefront of emerging industry practice
- Keep abreast of changes and trends in business processes and relevant methodologies
- Ensure competitor insights by understanding what competitors are doing
- Anticipate business area needs based on insights gained from industry-wide developments
- Have a desire to understand and research new Finance technology trends and FirstRand Group wide Finance trends
Motivation for Product/Business Changes - Drive forward-thinking and innovation
- Identify opportunities for improvement and make constructive suggestions for change
- Provide input into the business benefits for the proposed changes and quantify them where relevant
- Assist in driving the prioritisation process for the Business Unit or Functional Area to deliver, document and communicate the roadmap agreed with business for relevant business area
- Actively participate in ensuring that the proposed changes deliver the expected benefits through the facilitation of engagement between the end-users and Finance Enablement
Business Requirement Articulation and Project Follow-Through: - Clearly understand the business requirements for prioritised Business Unit or Functional Area business needs
- Articulate business needs in clear and understandable Business Requirement Specifications that articulate what is needed from business and that can be used by Finance Enablement to develop needed solutions
- Engage with the central BT business analyst team while they prepare Functional Specifications and Technical Specifications that articulate how the business need will be met
- Sign-off on the functional specifications as prepared by Finance Enablement
- Provide Finance Enablement with needed business engagement during the solution delivery and play the role of user tester as required
- Provide consultation, advice and facilitation to projects in Finance Enablement as needed
- Be responsible for implementing the business change and champion the roll out to users (i.e. landing the change within the BU/FA that does not relate to technology but would typically involve ensuring that end-user testing takes place, training is done, business processes are changed to support new technology etc.)
- Work with project team members to define metrics/performance goals/ acceptance criteria for the solution or system
- Participate in quality reviews or set reviews of designs, prototypes, and other work products to ensure they meet requirements
- Identify and raise project risks and issues
Stakeholder Management- Manage day-to-day stakeholder interaction
- Set and manage stakeholder expectations
- Develop lasting relationships in his/her business area with stakeholder personnel that foster stakeholder ties
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders in his/her business area to identify needs and evaluate alternative business solutions
- Continually seek opportunities to increase customer satisfaction and deepen stakeholder relationships
