The Financial Accountant will handle the month-end functions of balance sheet reconciliations, VAT returns and inter company invoicing, lab and courier billing. The role will also involve the stock count reporting . This is an on-site position. Key Responsibilities: Reviewing the general ledger and preparing the balance sheet reconciliations monthly to ensure allocations are done correctly Reviewing bank reconciliations Monthly journals Submitting monthly VAT returns and audit schedules when requested Intercompany invoicing Courier Billing to Stores Lab Billing Foreign Creditors Preparing the forward cover spreadsheet. Monitoring the exchange rates daily and advising if additional forward cover purchases are required. Stock control through cycle counts and full stock counts Maintaining accounting ledgers by verifying and posting journal entries and account transactions. Preparation and review of monthly management accounts Performing other related duties, as assigned. Special projects Key projects are set on a quarterly/annual basis. Qualifications & Experience: University Degree or equivalent experience. SAIPA qualified or SAICA articles 4 years of experience in an accounting environment. Key Competencies: Technical – Knowledge of accounting principles related to accounts payables and accounts receivables. Knowledge of foreign currencies. Technological – Working knowledge of MS Office Suite. Intermediate proficiency in Excel. Ability to become proficient in organization's various systems. Interpersonal - Ability to work in a small office environment as part of a team. Ability to positively address customer service concerns. Ability to exercise good judgment and make sound decisions regarding customer inquiries.
