We are seeking a skilled Fitter for our client. As a Fitter, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient assembly, maintenance, and repair of mechanical systems and equipment.

Requirements:

Compliance with all on-site safety regulations and protocols.
Certificate III in Engineering - Mechanical Trade or equivalent qualification.
Red Seal certification.
Proven experience as a Fitter.
Thorough understanding of local and state building codes.
Proficiency in using hand and power tools.
Ability to interpret blueprints for mechanical systems.
Strong focus and concentration abilities.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Outstanding communication, time management, and organizational abilities.
Exceptional welding and mechanical expertise.

Key Responsibilities:

Analyse drawings and specifications to determine the appropriate materials, methods, and operational sequences for projects.
Fit fabricated metal parts into products and assemble metal parts and sub-assemblies to create machines and equipment.
Verify the accuracy, clearance, and fit of fabricated and assembled metal parts using precision measuring instruments.
Set up guides, stops, and controls on machining tools and machinery.
Shape metal stock and castings to precise tolerances using various machining techniques.
Cut, thread, bend, and install hydraulic and pneumatic pipes and lines.
Diagnose faults, perform operational maintenance on machines, and undertake overhauls and repairs of mechanical parts and fluid power equipment.
Potentially participate in the on-site erection of machines and equipment.
