The incumbent will be measured against the overall equipment efficiency, which includes the efficient operation of production. Performance management will be monitored on an ongoing basis to ensure that the production uptime is maximised. Duties will include: Ensuring production equipments is in good condition. Responsible for equipment refurbishment as per job request to minimise loss of production hours. Liaise with Foreman to ensure that the correct spares are ordered / available for equipment repair. Must be able to plan/preventative maintenance. Must be able to do maintenance schedules. Faultfinding, maintaining of hydraulic systems, conveyor, pumps and machinery. Maintenance of taper rollers, presses, drilling machines, compressors, shotpeener (shotblast) Attend to breakdowns (mechanical and Hydraulics) General mechanical and electrical fitting Perform standby duties, Must be prepared to work overtime. Capture all job cards and PMs on software system (MTSYS) General Housekeeping and Safety Minimum Requirements of The Incumbent: Fitter Trade Test from Olifantsfontein. Minimum of 5 years post-apprenticeship working experience in a manufacturing environment. Solid experience in hydraulics, fitting & sound tool management skills. Communicate well, read and write English. Ability to use own initiative & willing to work long hours. Ability to work shifts & perform under pressure.
