Our client, a multinational company operating within the heavy construction/ engineering industry, is urgently looking to hire an Accountant to join their team in Bartlett, Boksburg. In this role, your main responsibility will be to assist the Freight Controller with clearances on Imports of Machines and Parts. Reporting into the Freight Controller Liaising with foreign suppliers Liaising with freight forwarder / clearing agents / SARS Liaising with Internal Staff – eg, Buyers, Warehouse and Finance Co-ordinate/ Consol bookings to maximize better freight rate options Organization of shipping files with correct documents for record keeping and audits Update on status of shipments Accuracy of costings / charges occurred Supplier Invoices processed timeously for payment Matric and relevant Tertiary Qualification At least 5 years' relevant experience in the earthmoving or construction and parts industries Must have shipping experience with a strong administrative background on Incoterms rules and requirements, SAD 500 and BOL Understanding Clearing - SARS, Freight and Logistics. Knowledge of all aspects of Import and export Knowledge and understanding of VAT ACT / SARS/ Customs SAP systems experience is advantageous
