Robert Walters South Africa What you'll do: As a Group Accountant , your role will be pivotal in managing the accounting for holding entities that interact with all subsidiaries across the group. You will be responsible for the full financial function of 6 holding entities, ensuring accurate record keeping and financial reporting. Your excellent skills in handling Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable will be crucial in maintaining smooth financial operations. Your ability to reconcile petty cash on a weekly/monthly basis, assist in monthly calculations for rebates and listing fees, restating foreign balances at month end spot rates, preparing VAT returns, maintaining registers, reconciling bank accounts and processing staff expenses will contribute significantly to the success of the finance team. Manage full financial function of 6 holding entities Prepare for and handle queries during external audit of these entities Handle Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable including invoice entry, payment of invoices, issuing of AR statements to regional offices, setting up new accounts and cost codes in Sage X3 Perform weekly/monthly petty cash reconciliation and post journal entries to Sage Assist in monthly calculations, reporting and accounting for rebates and listing fees Restate foreign balances at month end spot rates Prepare and submit monthly VAT return Maintain fixed asset register and lease register Reconcile bank accounts and cash book, process and pay staff expenses What you bring: As an experienced Group Accountant , you bring a wealth of knowledge from your minimum 5 years' experience in bookkeeping and accounting. Your familiarity with Sage is highly desirable as is your exposure to working with foreign currencies. Your proven ability to prepare management accounts, support budget preparation, monitor expenditure against budget, maintain internal controls, provide necessary information to tax consultants will make you an invaluable addition to our team.
